Privacy Policy
Effective 10 October 2026
fujiposts is an app for iPhone and iPad that works with Fujifilm X-series cameras. This policy says what the app does with your data. The short version: the app collects nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the app has no server of its own.
What stays on your device
Everything the app makes or keeps is stored in the app's own space on your iPhone or iPad:
- the RAW files (RAF) and camera JPEGs you import, and the photos the camera develops from them;
- your edits, albums, ratings and framed copies;
- your recipes and backups of your camera's custom settings C1–C7;
- the cameras you have connected, with each one's model and serial number, so the app recognises the body next time;
- your settings, including the name you enter for prints.
None of this is sent to us. We never see your photos.
iCloud sync (optional, off by default)
Settings › iCloud sync syncs your recipes, the camera backups you have marked Keep, and your remembered frame choices (border, caption fields and signature) between your devices. The data goes into your own private iCloud database under your Apple Account, through Apple's CloudKit. We cannot read it. Photos, albums, edits and ratings are never synced.
A kept camera backup includes the camera's model and serial number, since that is what identifies which body it came from.
To remove this data from iCloud, turn sync off in the app, then on your device open Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage, choose fujiposts and delete its data. The app notices and turns sync off on every device.
Purchases
The 7-day trial, the monthly subscription and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). We never receive your payment details, and the app reads only whether your Apple Account has an active purchase.
Place names
When you tap Use photo location in the Text tool, the app sends the GPS coordinates stored in that photo's own EXIF to Apple's geocoding service and shows the place name it returns. This happens only when you tap, and only with the coordinates in the photo, never with your device's location. The app never asks for location permission.
What leaves in an exported photo
A photo you share or save carries the metadata the camera wrote: camera model and lens, exposure settings, the date, the GPS location if your camera recorded one, and the camera's serial number if your camera writes it to the file. The app keeps this metadata on purpose, so your photos stay yours and keep their provenance. You decide where each photo goes, and you can strip metadata with the tools in Photos before posting.
Permissions
- Camera
- iOS uses one permission for every camera, including one connected by cable. fujiposts uses it only to talk to the Fujifilm camera over USB (Apple's ImageCaptureCore, the PTP protocol). It never opens or reads the iPhone's own camera. Without this permission the app cannot send anything to your camera.
- Photos
- Importing from your Photos library uses the system picker: the app sees only the files you pick and needs no permission for that. Saving to Photos asks to add photos to your library; the app asks for the wider permission only so it can put them in an album named after yours, and falls back to add-only if you prefer.
- Bluetooth, local network and the camera's Wi-Fi
- Used only for Transfer over Wi-Fi. Bluetooth pairs your camera with the phone; once paired, the app connects to it while the app is open, so the camera can open its own Wi-Fi. iOS then asks before the phone joins that Wi-Fi network, and local network access lets the app copy photos from the camera over it. None of these is used for anything else, and nothing goes to us.
Camera serial number
The app reads your camera's serial number when it connects, to tell your bodies apart and to label backups. It is kept on your device, shown masked in the app, and leaves it only inside a kept camera backup when you turn iCloud sync on.
Deleting your data
- Delete photos in the Library: Select, tick them and tap Delete. This removes the RAW or camera JPEG the app copied in, with its developed and framed copies, its edits, stars and album entries.
- Photos in a Files folder you linked stay yours: the app never deletes them. Remove the folder from the app with Remove.
- Remove a saved camera with Remove; delete a backup from its own screen.
- Deleting the app removes everything it stored on the device.
- iCloud data: see the iCloud sync section above.
- Photos you saved to Photos or Files are yours; delete them there.
When you write to us
If you email support@fujiposts.com, or use Settings › Help › Report an issue (which opens an empty draft in your own mail app, with nothing attached), we receive your email address and what you choose to write. We use it only to answer you, never for marketing, and we delete the conversation if you ask.
Children
fujiposts is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new effective date. A change that affects what the app does with your data will also be noted in the app's release notes.
